Production and marketing of fresh and processed fruit |
More than 5.000 members, an annual production of 220.000 t. of fruit and vegetables and 150.000 t. of wine grapes, a turnover of 165 million euros and 1.200 employees: Intesa is one of Europes most important fruit, vegetable and wine growing concerns.
The co-operative can claim 28 agricultural technicians for the
on-site assistance for the production, in compliance with the integrated pest management regulations of Emilia-Romagna. 25% of the production comes from partners certificated to Eurepgap standard. |

- nectarines (75.000 t.)
- kiwis (40.000 t.)
- peaches (24.000 t.)
- pears (19.000 t.)
- apples (15.000 t.)
- plums (8.000 t.)
- date plums (7.000 t.)
- apricots (5.000 t.)
- other fruit species (7.000 t.)
- moreover, 20.000 t. of vegetables.

Every year 10% of Intesa production goes for transformation. Part is processed by Conserve Italia, the large cooperative of which Intesa is an important associate.
Approximately 110.000 t., go to the foreign markets through the business unit Alegra; 70.000 t. go to the national market (around 20.000 t. directly to large scale distribution).
Intesa has ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certifications, five of its warehouses are also certificated to BRC standard.
Intesa collaborates with important fruit and vegetable organisations, as the New Zealand Zespri for which it is Kiwi distributor in Italy. |
